I dreamed I was conducting an orchestra, but instead of batons I was using large paintbrushes.
Once upon a time on a clear autumn night in the year 2002...
I dreamed I was conducting an orchestra, but instead of batons I was using large paintbrushes. My hands whirled through the air as if in a dance and in this exhilaration of movement I painted abstract pictures in space.
To my amazement the orchestra translated the pictures I painted in the air into a wondrous acoustic masterpiece.
When I woke up in the morning I drove into town, bought paintbrushes, paint and a canvas and began painting that very day.
In a matter of days my flat was brimming with “masterpieces”. I trusted my intuition and rented a disused pigsty, investing huge amounts of time and effort lovingly converting it into a gallery. Thirteen months after the dream the first private view was held in the “Gegenwart” Gallery.
